Stripper workers’ Rights
Non-Profit Organization
STRIPPER RESOURCES.
Know Your Rights
It can be difficult navigating your rights after receiving mixed messages from employers. We’re here to clarify things so you can decide for yourself what the truth is.
STRIPPERS ARE EMPLOYEES
Strippers are federally recognized as employees. It’s why strippers almost always win labor law suits.
Aid For All: Scholarships, Fellowships, Grants
We are always looking for ways to create mutual aid initiatives. Keep track of what’s available here as there may be aid that you qualify for.
Labor Rights Resources Videos
These videos were made pre-pandemic by a few of our members. They explain in digestible terms what AB5 is, what unionizing is and what your rights are.
Unemployment For Strippers Nationwide
You have a right to unemployment since you are federally recognized as an employee under the National Labor Relations Board. We’ve helped several strippers claim and receive unemployment.
Misconceptions About Employees vs. Independent Contractors
There are pro’s and con’s to being either an employee or an independent contractor. Learn the differences, as employers often take advantage and will call you an IC but treat you as an employee…

STRIPPER NEWS.
OUR TEAM.
StriPPERS UNITED 10 POINT PLAN.
-
1. Promote Visibility / Destigmatization
We will create spaces where strippers and sex workers can affirm and celebrate each other and build community. We will promote visibility of sex workers and representatives of sex work that originate with us, with the goal of disrupting the media’s incessant stigmatization and exploitation of our identity. We publicly and loudly affirm the dignity of our work and our lives.
-
2. Reinforce Bodily Autonomy and the Autonomy of Sex workers
We believe that sex workers deserve complete autonomy and control over their bodies. No law should be drafted about sex work without sex workers. Sex workers deserve a seat at every table where decisions that affect their lives are being made, in all movements and areas.
-
3. Uphold Integrity Within our Organization
We will work actively to uphold our principles internally, prioritize communication and transparency, and adhere to a grievance policy that is based in restorative justice and nonviolent communication.
-
4. Abolish Wage Theft
We will strive to end the theft of sex workers’ wages by their employers. Sex workers’ money should be controlled by sex workers alone and only sex workers should profit from sex work.
-
5. Protect Sex Workers
We will create environments where sex workers feel safe and protected from mistreatment, assault and abuse. We believe all sex work must be safe for sex workers. We believe all sex workers deserve to be provided the means to lead a safe, comfortable and dignified life.
-
6. Provide Education
We will educate our communities as sex workers and our communities as a whole. Sex workers deserve to know their rights as workers. The public should know about the mistreatment of sex workers as well as the rich history of sex work.
-
7. Take Political Action
We will fight for the decriminalization of sex work. Sex workers should not be subject to the micromanagement and surveillance of the government. We will oppose and work to block the passing of legislation that actively harms sex workers, as well as advocate for the rights of sex workers through the use of the legal system. We will build coalitions and use our collective political power to keep pressure on the government and pass legislation authored by sex workers.
-
8. Unionize Clubs
We will harness the collective power of strippers and sex workers to upend the current power imbalance between owners and workers. We will aid in establishing worker-owned businesses. We aim to reverse corporatization and replace it with local empowerment and transparency. Our workplaces should be safe places that reflect our values and our dignity, and be spaces where we feel powerful. Strippers and sex workers are not disposable: there is no sex industry without us.
-
9. Facilitate Access to Support and Resources
We will connect strippers and sex workers to aid and opportunities to enhance success in their work and in their lives.
-
10. Combat Discrimination, Racism, and Systemic Oppression
We at Strippers United are committed to dismantling system oppression through elevating the voices of the marginalized, most vulnerable in our community: trans women/femmes/enby BIPOC, people with disabilities, undocumented immigrants, veteran sex workers, combat ageism, full service sex workers, and everyone else denied access to their basic human rights. We aim to dismantle racist and discriminatory practices within our industry and prioritize disability justice for sex workers. We are dedicated to lateral power, radical redistribution of wealth, and restorative justice.
